    December 5, 2011 by Kayce

This cutie pink Froyo Apad is one of my Christmas wish list. I want to give it to my daughter because she loves watching her favorite cartoons, cooking lessons and educational shows in Youtube.  She always use my laptop that’s why  I couldn’t finish all my blogging tasks and other stuffs online . Ive been saving money so I could buy her this mini netbook computer.

I saw it in Facebook from an online friend who are selling netbooks, mobile phones and other gadgets. This mini netbook is called the SUPER APAD iROBOT with Version 2.2 Froyo and has a Genuine Android OS.  It costs around $100. The package includes a leather case with standard USB keyboard and stylus with charger and USB adapter.

You can play high speed games and you can even use direct chat like yahoo messenger.  Its functions includes internet surfing via WiFi or LAn, E-book reader, Microsoft Office, video and voice recorder, music and video player. Its also Android market ready so it means we can download free applications and software in it. It’s features and specs is just great! I can even use it for myself. What do you think? :)

  2. A Workstation for Me

    November 15, 2011 by Kayce

One of my plans is to put up my own workstation at our new house. As of now we are still trying to complete all the needed furniture, appliances and other home decorations. Once it is completed, I am planning to buy a nice set of computer table, chair and other accessories just like my mom’s workstation at her home.

Having my own workstation is really important for someone like me who always stay in front of the computer for long hours a day. Sitting at one for extended lengths of time increases the odds of muscle fatigue, eye strain and more. But with the help of  workstations where a desktop computer is setup, it will help decrease these certain physical ailments.

One of the great benefit of having a properly setup workstation is that we are able to work in a productive environment. If your job entails a large quantity of time sitting in front of a computer, it may be in a office or at home, you have everything that you need that includes printers, scanners and anything else  that you need  where you just plug into your computer to get your work done since it is already arranged and organized properly.

  3. Looking for a Pink Notebook

    November 6, 2011 by Kayce

Christmas is fast approaching and one of my Christmas wish list is to have my own notebook. I have my emachines netbook but its quite big and it couldn’t fit in my bag. Ive been eying on those pink cutie notebooks available in the market today.  The pink girly color attracts me most cause it adds some flair, expression and identity to one of my most used possessions. And oh! did I say that I’m a certified pink lover? wink!

Aside from the fact that I love the pink colored notebooks or mini laptops, I just love it because its light and compact and I can easily carry it around wherever I go. I’m also looking for notebook that has a good battery life  and are good enough for web-browsing, watching movies and photos, reading mails, facebooking and blogging of course.  In short, it has a good features and specs.

Sony Vaio W in pink - fancy, if you can afford it
I want something like this from Sony Vaio W in fancy hot pink color. Well, if my budget fits, why not buy this one. But since I still have to pay  our utility bills, I think I better go find for cheap pink notebooks available here in our local shopping mall or perhaps I go look for best deals and discounts online.

  5. Why We Should Reformat our Computer?

    September 5, 2011 by Kayce

One of our client pc from our i-cafe was infected with virus and my hubby finds it hard to open and recover the programs and files saved in it so the best and easiest way to remove the virus is to reformat the system.

My hubby is the one who do the reformat and set up those programs and software. We do believe that through reformat it helps eradicate all problems and it brings the computer back to its healthy state.

Because the reformat or restore process erases everything on your computer, you need to backup any of your important files on your computer. You will also need your original software install disks to reinstall any software you have purchased. This is because once you format your computer, you might have a hard time saving those files which you might have missed out on backing up even with data recovery.

  6. Computer Cloning?

    August 30, 2011 by Kayce

A friend of mine asked me if we are using a computer cloning software for our i-cafe pc units. I told him we don’t use it. I even wonder what is that software all about since my hubby just use to install software and program manually on each pc’s. He told us that computer cloning or ghosting is a process that involves setting up the operating system, drivers, software, and patches on a single computer, then automatically replicating this same setup on other computers using specialized software.

I think cloning is helpful for i-cafe operators like us because no matter what software we use, cloning allows to efficiently set up multiple computers, and can be done at any organization where we want to ensure that every workstation is configured the same way and with the same software.

  7. Looking for Computer Scrap Buyer

    August 30, 2011 by Kayce

Our storage area here in our house is fully loaded with lots of computer scraps since we started upgrading our pc units from our i-cafe. We have lots of computer monitors, cpu’s, hard disks and other pc accessories and I really want to dispose all of these things because it’s not functional anymore and its already obsolete.

I had been looking for a scrap dealer here in our place but I haven’t seen yet. Although junk shops buys these scraps but they just have to weigh it and the price will depend on the weight. I asked for the price and its too cheap. Well, I think  have to look and ask for my friends here to help me find a scrap buyer. I really want to get rid on all of these computer junks here.

  8. Looking for an External Hard Drive

    August 30, 2011 by Kayce

We want to buy an external hard drive because we need it as a backup option for our computer. This is a great choice for us since we have so many programs, installers and files from our computer shop and we know it really helps in backing up our files and data.

My hubby was also complaining about the slow transferring of programs and files since he just network the file from one pc to another. Every time he wants to install a certain game, it took several hours before it will transfer to another computer. That’s why we really need to buy an external hard drive so it would be easier for my hubby to install new programs specially on games.

We will also be no longer be limited in storing a few hundred megabytes or even several gigabytes. We can look forward to a portable and reliable storage capacities ranging into terabytes. We are actually frustrated on our desktop computer and network file server backup job and we think that external drive will work a lot easier for us.

I am still searching for a good brand and model do some research and reviews online before we finally decide to purchase. I will look for some reviews and especially on any feedback on how reliable the drive is. Any good and reliable brand of external hard drive that you can recommend to us?

  9. Client PC’s for Our I-Cafe

    August 13, 2011 by Kayce

    Image0087

We originally set up our net cafe for chat users before way back 7 years ago and that includes microsoft office for encoding and printing purposes. And then we also started buying gaming PC’s for the gamers as shown in the photo. So what spec do you need for a gaming PC these days? Ours are Dual Core with 2gb of ram, 250gb hard drive, 512mb GFX card. We have also found that gaming wise things like Call of duty, DOTA, counter-strike, RF Online and RAN Online are all their favourites. We bought this complete set of Gaming PC at around P17,000.

You can try to budget P20,000 to P25,000 per PC.  Do not scrimp out on memory, processing power or video cards. The logic here is that  even if you save a few bucks but your computers will be trash in less than a year and  you should have a faster PC than your competitors. And if you can get LCD monitors for all computers, then do so. The cost savings on electricity will more than pay for itself.

And if you’re a techie, you can probably do the wiring and the setup of the routers and switches yourself. That’s what my hubby is doing here. But if you can’t, there are professionals who can do it for you. If you can’t find one in your place, ask the tech guy at the PC shop where you bought your hardware if he can do a little moonlighting for your new shop.

  10. My Acer Emachine D732Z Laptop

    August 13, 2011 by Kayce

    SAM_0014

I purchased this Acer emachine D732Z laptop a few months ago because I donated my old BENQ laptop to our church. My old lappy was actually one of the oldest laptop model. It has a battery problem and I can’t bring it anywhere. It’s so heavy and I can’t use it when it is not plugged in an outlet.

I was actually looking for a pink notebook which can also be fitted in my bag but my hubby suggested that I should look for the good specs, not just the looks and style…blah!blah! So, he was the one who looked for the best laptop available here in our place since I don’t know much about those certain specs. Were also looking for a huge LCD screen, with DVD writer/ROM, huge memory, hard disk and video card. So at last, we finally found the right one.

This Acer emachine D732Z laptop costs P19,995 with free retractable mouse and notebook cooler. We just have to add P500 if we want an installation for the operating system, programs and other applications. Well, my hubby is already an expert on it so we didn’t pay for the additional fee.

This is actually my very first laptop. A new, sleek and modern looking laptop. I have no knowledge about laptop’s low battery life. I thought that it would last for more than 6 hours but I was surprised when I found out and noticed that it only lasts for about 3 hours and even less than that. I am a such a heavy computer user. I use computer for almost 24 hours! I’m already worried on how long this laptop of mine will last. Every time the low battery sign will appear on my screen, I have to plug the charger so I can continue my online routine.

My laptop’s battery already starts to lose its capacity since I always use it and I think after a year or two I might need to get a new battery just to get an hour or two away from an outlet. Any tips and advice that you can share to me my friends on how can I possibly extend my laptop’s battery life?
